SGPI Members Awarded the Lilić–Abinun Foundation Scholarship for Advancing Clinical Immunology in Serbia

The Lilić–Abinun Foundation was established at Newcastle University (United Kingdom) by Professors Desa Lilić and Maria Abinun, with the aim of improving the quality of clinical immunology in Serbia. Each year, a call is announced for candidates from Serbia and the UK to enable the exchange of clinical knowledge and experience, as well as to facilitate the execution of research projects.

The 2025 scholarship recipients are Dr. Jelena Ljubičić from the Clinic of Allergology and Immunology, University Clinical Center of Serbia, and Dr. Andrej Pešić from the Clinic of Hematology, University Clinical Center of Serbia. This year’s scholarship projects focus on the hematopoietic stem cell transplantation process in adult patients with primary immunodeficiencies.

We are especially proud that both recipients are active members of the Serbian Group for Primary Immunodeficiencies (SGPI) and hope that this training will provide them with new knowledge to improve patient care.
