The recipients of the 2026 Lilić-Abinun Scholarships are Dr. Marija Simić (Project: Advancing Post-Transplant Care for Children with Inborn Errors of Immunity in Serbia) and Dr. Borko Gobeljić (Project: Pretransplant program (diagnostics, HSCT planning and execution, patient oriented and tailored treatment plans, management and treatment of early complications)), both from the Mother and Child Healthcare Institute of Serbia “Dr Vukan Čupić”.
This year’s scholarship projects focus on haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) in paediatric patients with inborn errors of immunity, with the aim of advancing clinical knowledge and experience in the management and treatment of these patients.
The Lilić-Abinun Foundation was established at Newcastle University, United Kingdom, by Professors Desa Lilić and Mario Abinun, with the aim of improving the quality of clinical immunology in Serbia. Each year, the Foundation invites applications from candidates in Serbia and the United Kingdom, fostering the exchange of clinical knowledge and experience and supporting the development of research projects.
Congratulations to this year’s scholarship recipients! We wish them every success in their professional development and research.
